About us
Opening of Shop
In the spring of 1983 Wolcott's local grocery store Pikwick was closing its doors. Wolcott residents Patsy and Rose DiSapio heard the news and decided they wanted to make a go at opening their own grocery store. Patsy was a full time carpenter, and Rose a saleswoman at G-Fox. After searching for a distributor, they were lucky enough to partner with Bozzuto’s right in Cheshire Connecticut. With Patsy’s extremely strong work ethics and Carpenter experience he was able to flip the business around and open Pat's IGA’s doors for the first time in Summer of 1983.
90's
2000's
In 2009 Mike took ownership of Pat's IGA with his wife Nicole. Over the years Mike’s three children Mike JR, Gabriella, and Mark started to learn the business. Now Michael Jr runs the catering, prepared foods, and deli. Mark runs the meat room and seafood department. While Gabriella works in the bakery department. All five family members still value every lesson Patsy and Rose taught them. None of us would be where we are today without them, and their lessons they instilled in us growing up.
We are lucky enough to say we are not just three generations in, Mike and Nicole's granddaughter Rose, Gabriella's daughter will soon be serving the town of Wolcott like her great grandparents!
